Michael Powers joined OxyHeal Health Group after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force within the Special Operations Command. While in the Special Operations Command, Michael trained and supervised Joint Special Operations Forces, Department of Defense personnel, Allied Military and Government Interagency personnel as Basic Divers, Dive Supervisors and Dive Medical Technicians. He trained personnel in the administration of hyperbaric oxygen to injured divers and he researched, developed and tested equipment utilized within the military dive community. Michael also deployed worldwide as part of a training team to advise and train U.S. and allied personnel.
Following his retirement, Michael has spent the last years learning the medical and safety aspects of hyperbaric medicine. He has worked his way from basic hyperbaric technician to the current positions of Eastern Regional Operations Manager and Director of Education for OxyHeal Health Group.
Along with his current role’s, Michael serves as Program Director for the Wound & Hyperbaric Center at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut. One of the many hats Michael wears in this particular role is coordinating directly with the Hospital Administration and Medical Director in support of UHMS and NFPA 99 guidelines; He is also responsible for developing and regulating policies and procedures for the day to day operations of the Center.
